NSS College, Pandalam Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a Central Library and various department libraries. The department libraries contain books relating to the respective subjects and are under the control of the Heads of Department. The central library contains a large stock of books related to numerous subjects and literature. Students can borrow two books at a time and shall return it within the prescribed duration of time. Spoiling and damaging books invoke a penalty. A lost book shall be replaced or the fine remitted. Copies of each of the leading newspapers are subscribed in order to cater to the needs of both male and female students separately at the two library wings.

The college has a lab facility. Students will be responsible for any breakage or loss of the apparatus used in the lab. Students shall not take any chemical or instrument from outside into the lab or take out any instrument or chemical from the laboratory. The student shall strictly follow the safety rules and regulations while in the laboratory.

The college has a hostel for women which has 26 rooms (dormitory type) and 75 inmates. The hostel is provided with recreational facilities like television, reading and to engage in cultural programs during festival days and on annual occasions.

The College has a Canteen function smoothly and supplies snacks and meals to the students and staff at the concessional rate in a clean atmosphere.

The college has an auditorium facility for all the events and seminars.

The College has a well-equipped computer lab with 40 computers. The computer lab is available to all staff and students.

The college has a guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college follows an innovative two-tier system for the active and efficient functioning of the Alumni Association. All the Departments have their own alumni governed by individual by-laws. The college alumni have separate bylaws but no separate membership. The executive committee members of the departmental Alumni together form the general body of the College level Alumni, which consists of about 200 members. The decentralized system is found to be more successful as it increases the participation of members. During an academic year, there are one or two general body meetings for each Departmental Alumni and one general body meeting for the College alumni.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.
