Rajah Muthiah Dental College and Hospital was set up in 1980 and is a constituent college of Annamalai University in Annamalai Nagar, Tamil Nadu. This is a co-educational institution that is recognised by the Dental Council of India (DCI) and hence offers quality students in dentistry. Currently, the college provides 11 courses at three academic levels focused on different issues in the dental field. At present, the institute has a faculty of 49 young and committed professionals to give a strong foundation to the students in the field of dentistry.

The institute provides all the basic amenities and modern infrastructural development to meet the students’ needs. This school contains the different hostels for the boys and girls, which help outstation students to live comfortably. An adequate librarian is a versatile information centre that provides a large selection of dental literature and research material. The college cares about physical health and provides the students with sports complexes and a gym. Technological excellence and practice make their laboratories up-to-date, while IT competency defines their IT infrastructure. Extra facilities include sports, grounds, and facilities: For dramatics, music, and other programmes of entertainment and recreation, there is a large open-air auditorium. The campus also includes a cafeteria where students can have their drinks and snacks and a guest house for those who come to visit the campus, making it a complete compound for students’ learning.

RMDC Now, Rajah Muthiah Dental College and Hospital offers the following programmes: The key programme of the college is the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme with an approved intake of 113 students to give a sound knowledge of dental sciences. The college also provides a number of MDS, which are mainly specialisations such as periodontology, orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and others. Also, the institute offers diploma courses in dental hygienist and dental mechanics to meet the different needs in this line of dental careers.

Rajah Muthiah Dental College and Hospital has an admission system that follows merit through a systematic process. In this context, the BDS programme has also been given admitting criteria mainly based on NEET scores. Candidates who seek admission must pass the NEET examination with the prescribed cutoff marks. Likewise, in the case of the MDS programmes, the scores of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test for MDS (NEET MDS) are taken into account.
