Rajkiya Govind Ballabh Pant Polytechnic, Lucknow, is one of the premier technical institutions, since 1967, where the best faculty churns out the finest brains in a state-of-the-art learning environment. Alma, located in the heart of the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, is a co-educational polytechnic that offers a range of diploma programmes in diverse engineering disciplines. Rajkiya Govind Ballabh Pant Polytechnic offers three programmes of three-year duration. The core engineering disciplines in these programmes are civil, electrical, and mechanical. The overall intake capacity of this institute is 120 students, with 30 in civil engineering and 45 each in electrical and mechanical engineering. All the courses are designed in a manner through which the well-developed foundation of the course may be served righteously in the areas of the technical industries.

The admission procedure for the college is meritorious and structured. Admission is only through the Joint Entrance Examination of the Council of Joint Entrance Examination of Uttar Pradesh. This examination is usually held for admission to all polytechnics of Uttar Pradesh under Group A.
