Shri L.R. Tiwari College of Engineering, Thane, Maharashtra was established in the year 2010 under the aegis of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha. This affiliated college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education and offers a wide range of courses in engineering. SLRTCE has a sprawling 3.5-acre campus with a total student enrolment of 1,674 and a faculty strength of 54. The institute offers 8 courses across 2 degrees, which are oriented towards different engineering fields. SLRTCE is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, thus adhering to the concept of quality education. The composition of the student body includes 86% male and 14% female students, and 99% from within the state.

SLRTCE provides a wide range of facilities for an efficient learning environment. Other facilities are spacious cafeteria, medical facilities with first-aid provisions, and comfortable transport services for day scholars.

Admission to SLRTCE is based on the rules and regulations framed in the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fees) Act, 2015. The institute considers the scores of two major entrance examinations: JEE Main and MHT CET. These exams are normally conducted in the months prior to the academic year, with the results and consequent counseling sessions shortly afterwards.
