Sree Vahini Institute of Science and Technology was established in the year 2008 at Tiruvuru, a prominent educational hub in Andhra Pradesh. This autonomous institute is approved by AICTE and accredited by NAAC. Having 10 acres as its campus, SVIST offers a great diversity in its 17 courses across 4 degree programs. It has a total enrolment of 2,117 students and 157 faculty members, which helps in maintaining a healthy student-teacher ratio.

The admission process to the SVIST institution is mainly entrance-based. The students who take admission for the B. Tech programmes should qualify in the AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test) conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The admissions are made on the basis of merit secured in the entrance examination subject to the rules of reservation for different categories. In management quota seats, 30% intake is made based either on AP EAMCET rank or a minimum of 50% aggregate in 10+2 qualifying examination. Admission to the M.Tech. course is based on a valid GATE score or AP PGECET rank, while for the MBA course, it is based on the AP ICET (Integrated Common Entrance Test) conducted by APSCHE.
