Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Pharmacy was established in 1982 at Sector-26, Chandigarh. This affiliated college is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India, imparting special instruction at this college in pharmacy and medical laboratory technology. Spread over a 6-acre campus, the institution has a total student enrolment of 527 and a faculty strength of 21.

The college facilities are aptly equipped to ensure all students receive comprehensive learning experiences. The college has ultramodern laboratories that support all practical training in pharmaceutical sciences and medical laboratory techniques. The college library is the centerpiece of all academic resources. It boasts having over 12,734 books, 13 periodicals, and a host of e-journals—all these resources are available at the students' disposal. Separate hostel facilities are available for boys and girls in the college for those requiring such accommodation. 

Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Pharmacy is presently running a total of two diploma courses on a full-time basis. The intake capacity for the D.Pharma program is 60 and for the Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology is 126, hence totaling 186 seats at the diploma level. Both the courses are so designed as to enable the students to attain detailed theoretical knowledge backed by practical skills necessary to face challenging situations in their respective futures regarding pharmacy and medical laboratory services.

Their admission procedure is purely based on the merit list, which is probably best suited for the Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology course.
