Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai was established in the year 1957 by Late Shri. Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar was a philanthropist and industrialist. TCE Madurai Scholarship

Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE), Madurai scholarships are offered to meritorious students from a poor background to help them continue their studies at the college. Donations received from the alumni are deposited in TCE Alumni Charitable Trust, the interest earned from which is used for granting scholarships. Around 100-200 students receive scholarships on average and the amount varies from Rs. 10,000 - Rs. 25,000. Thiagarajar College of Engineering scholarships are granted on a merit-cum-means basis and are exempted from income tax under section 80G.
