Uday Memorial B.Ed. College, which was started in the year 2012, is one of the many affiliated colleges in Jharkhand having its campus in Ranchi. This co-educational institute specialises in teacher education offering two full-time courses, B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) and D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education). Covering a total land area of 1 acre, the college has 181 students as a whole and serves with a devoted team of 13 faculties. With the recognition from National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Uday Memorial B.Ed. College is nurturing the future of Education.

Uday Memorial B.Ed. College has various amenities that seek to improve learning environment that the students practice. The main element of the academic resources is an equipped and open-access library containing hundreds of educational CDs, such as Encyclopedia Britannica and National Geographic journals. The library has 2 international journals and about 30 periodicals covering the current trends in education. For practical learning, a computer laboratory that is well endowed with 50 student own computers is provided, with a view of in grooming the technological aspect of the learners. That is why sports complexes, various fields for both indoor and outdoor use, are provided within the campus to develop the students in all possible aspects. Other facilities include a cafeteria, a hall for conferences and lectures, laboratory facilities, a shop, a medical facility, and a gym, all of which make the overall students life in campus full.

Uday Memorial B.Ed. College has mainly two courses which both are two year, full time courses. B.Ed. programme has intake capacity of 100 students for each course, while D.El.Ed programme also has intakes of 100 students for each course with an overall 200 seats. These programmes are structured to prepare students for a successful employment in the teaching profession where the teaching and the learning detail a student’s knowledge and skills of the theory and its practical applicability in the teaching arena.

Uday Memorial B.Ed. College's admission is based upon the marks acquired in the last examination and also the entrance test if taken. The college keeps admission policies framed by the State Government, U.T. Administration, and the affiliated University in mind. In addition, candidates who have applied for B.Ed. programme may have to write other tests as per the government and university norms. The admission in D.El.Ed programme may depend upon the merit and there may be provision for written entrance test or any any other test that is prescribed by the authority from time to time.
