University College of Engineering, Panruti (UCEP), as an acknowledged university college, was founded in 2008 in the southern region of Tamil Nadu, India. Having a geographical presence at Chennai Kumbakonam Highway, this constituent college has been providing direction to engineering education for more than a decade. UCEP occupies a vast piece of land of 22.21 acres, providing an Aero Campus for teaching and learning in a serene environment. Currently, the college has a total strength of 1214 students and has a well-dedicated faculty of 67 members, which provides a good number strength faculty ratio for the creamy layer and individual attention to the students.
It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). May UCEP take pride in providing a wide range of facilities for the augmentation of student facilities. This campus houses separate hostels for girls and boys; this is convenient for learners coming from distant places, as they will be able to get comfortable hostels to stay in. A modern library is a source of knowledge, whereas state-of-the-art laboratories are used to create facilities that would facilitate practical learning of various engineering disciplines. University College of Engineering aim at the students’ all-round development is seen through the provided sports facilities and an auditorium for events andseminarsr purposes. Urgent health care of the community is provided by the health centre with first Aid in UCEP. The campus also has good Information Technology for the students to enable them to cope with the latest developments in technology. There is provision of many parking facilities provided for members of the institution’s community, including faculty, staff, and students, enhancing campus convenience.
Currently, the academic environment of UCEP AC offers its students seven full-time undergraduate engineering programmes. Among them, BE in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering… Interestingly, UCEP also provides BE programmes in the Tamil medium for Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering to underline its mission for equal access for all. The total number of approved intakes is 420 for all courses offered. Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering have the maximum intake of 120. Such a variety of programmes even enables a learner to select the area of specialisation to actualise his or her dreams.
