Vikas College of Physical Education was established in the year 2014, and it is a co-educational institution located in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. This affiliated college has a campus of 2 acres and is meant to foster future professionals in physical education. The NCTE-approved college offers two programmes in physical education. With the current enrolment of 86 students and a faculty strength of 1, Vikas College of Physical Education offers a focused environment to learn for aspiring physical education teachers and sports professionals. The institution has ample facilities for academics as well as the practice of physical education. 

A well-stocked library functions as a knowledge hub for students, offering resources germane to their course works and research. The institution has sports facilities that form a cornerstone in the provision of students with practical experience about the various athletic disciplines. The institution is also well equipped with excellent IT infrastructure to address modern educational requirements. Departmental laboratories provide practical learning to enhance theoretical knowledge acquired in classrooms.

Vikas College of Physical Education has two full-time courses to meet the different physical education training needs at various levels. Its enrolment capacity for both B.P.Ed and D.P.Ed courses is 100 students each, hence offering a total of 200 seats for both programs. This includes programs that are designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and skills within the Physical Education domain, with the ultimate aim of making them prepare for different careers related to sports coaching, fitness training, and teaching of physical education.

In the case of B.P.Ed, admission is made on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, subject to the policies prescribed by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh and the affiliated university. For D.P.Ed., a comprehensive selection process, including a sports proficiency test, a physical fitness test, etc., and marks obtained in the qualifying examination. This multi-dimensional approach ensures that a candidate gets the necessary academic background and physical capabilities required for making a career in Physical Education.
