This affiliated college recognised by the Bar Council of India has been carving out future legal luminaries for close to four decades. The college is located in a small plot of 0.2755 acres and it caters for 591 enrolled students in a compact campus environment. It has a total faculty strength of fourteen members, who are praiseworthy dedicated educators, which makes it possible to provide a satisfactory student-teacher ratio.
Vivekananda College of Law owns assorted facilities that are intended to improve the learning environment as well as the personal growth of learners in the college. The library, which forms an integral part of legal education, has over 15000 books and 2000 bound volumes of different law journals. SCC, Manupatra Online, and LawSuper are some of the websites used in accessing electronic research materials and legal databases. The college has espoused skills-based learning with the group best equipped to illustrate the college’s practical leaning—the Moot Court Hall, where students practice advocacy skills regularly before some of the best legal brains in the country in mock trial sessions.
For those who need to be accommodated, the college has accommodation facilities in different hostels for boys and girls, with a total capacity of 110 boys and 53 girls. Besides, both the hostels have facilities like a mess, an aquaguard filter that has been installed in each room and hot water service through a solar heater that works round the clock. In addition, the campus has computer internet facilities, facility for indoor and outdoor games, gymnasium, canteen facility, etc.
Vivekananda College of Law offers a total of three law courses to its students that could be a varied choice for learners. The institute's academic portfolio includes the traditional 3-year LLB programme and two integrated 5-year programmes: BA LLB and B.Com LLB. Its four group web pages that offer course descriptions of the universities’ degree programmes indicate that these courses are intended for students of different academic preparations and career interests within the legal profession. The college is allowed to take a total of 240 students in all the programmes under this new plan, which shows that the college focuses on providing quality education through restricted admissions.
The admission procedure of Vivekananda College of Law envisages screening and admitting deservingly qualified candidates for each course.
