    Promoting a culture of exploration and collaboration across all areas of research and study, the undergraduate programme in Biology is targeted at students with strongly developed interests in Biology. Courses will also be offered for non-majors interested in learning more about Biology or for meeting their scientific temperament needs. Courses for Biology majors will provide a strong foundation for research and as well as for careers in the biological sciences, medicine, pharmaceutical and biotech industry, teaching and other related fields. A prospective Biology major student is required to complete 12 core courses in Biology and suggested optional courses in Science and Biology along with the mandatory requirement of 12 foundation courses. Students who wish to enhance their research pursuit beyond the institutional requirements of B.Sc. in Biology can pursue the 4th year in Biology, which will include courses in Physiology, Computational Biology & Bioinformatics, Landmark studies in Biology, Plant Biology and project work.


    Eligibility Criteria

    Applicants who have appeared for their final board examinations are required to submit the scores of all the subjects they have undertaken as a part of their class XII final board examinations -In case an applicant is awaiting his/her final examination results at the time of filling in and submitting the application form, he/she is required to submit their predicted grades/scores. Predicted grades/scores are the estimated final grades/scores of the Class XII board examinations. 

    The predicted grades/scores may be provided by the school counselor/any other relevant school authority. In the absence of official predicted grades/scores, applicants also have the option of submitting self-predicted grades/scores -In case an applicant has received only grades instead of numeric scores in class XI and/or XII, applicants will have to submit a school-approved conversion scale for the Admissions Committee to be able to convert the grades into numeric scores.

    A holistic selection process aims at determining both the fulfilled and potential merit of an applicant. Candidates will be evaluated on their consistent academic performance, active engagement outside the curriculum, and personal impact in terms of challenges they might have faced and overcome. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their application will be invited for an interview.
