MIT-WPU’s M.Sc. Environmental Science programme equips the students for a prospective career in environmental research and conservation, ecosystem management, societal development, and policy formulation.

Environmental Science programmes provide an opportunity to delve into core concepts like ecology, climate change, natural resource management (NRM) and pollution control technology, environmental management, environmental geology, environmental biotechnology, environmental acts & regulations, data analytics, industrial development & sustainability, environmental management planning (EMP), environmental impact assessment (EIA), life cycle analysis (LCA), and advanced RS-GIS. gaining a deep understanding of Earth's interconnected systems.

The programme includes skill-based curriculum in data analysis and analytics, remote sensing-geoinformatics (RS-GIS), and hands-on training in software for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), and Environmental Management Plan (EMP).

Major Tracks

Wildlife Conservation : Explore the fascinating world of wildlife biology, delve into conservation strategies, and learn how to manage protected areas. Curriculum include evolutionary biology, landscape ecology, wildlife research methods, and conservation ecology.
Industrial Sustainability : Master sustainable industrial practices, explore pollution control technologies, and understand circular economy principles. Students study tracks like industrial pollution, green energy solutions, industrial sustainability, and localising the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Environmental Regulations : Become an expert in environmental laws, policies, and standards. Learn how these regulations are implemented and enforced. Curriculum encompass environmental law & policy, environmental education & awareness, environmental health & safety management, and environmental regulations & ethics.
Beyond the Classroom : MIT-WPU is one of the leading environmental science colleges as the programme emphasises practical skills development. Gain hands-on experience through field trips and industry visits. The learners are provided with the tools needed by offering skill-based tracks in data analysis, remote sensing, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems). Additionally, Students receive training in software used for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), and Environmental Management Plans (EMP).

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum 50% aggregate score in 3/4-year graduation from UGC approved University or equivalent (at least 45% marks, in case of Reserved Class category candidate belonging to Maharashtra State only).
