Sardar Bhagwan Singh University offers scholarships as financial aid for the benefit of the students. SBS Dehradun scholarships come in the form of merit-based scholarships, reservations for Sikh Minority Students, PG scholarships for Ex-Students and Scholarships for students in the sports quota. Eligible candidates can avail of any one of the SBS scholarships subject to the rules and regulations. SBS Dehradun does not require students to return the scholarship money, as it is offered with the purpose of helping students further their education. SBS Dehradun Scholarship eligibility criteria are subject to renewal and modification on a year-to-year basis. Merit-Based Scholarship | Candidates must have scored 65% above in their 10+2 examinations to avail of a Rs 2500 scholarship every semester. Students who scored 75% above can avail a scholarship of Rs 5000 every semester. |
Reservation for Sikh Minority students | To avail of one of the 5% seats reserved for Sikh Minority students, candidates must submit an affidavit as per specimen provided by the university and must be endorsed by the local Gurudwara Management Committee |
Ex-students Scholarship | Candidates must have completed their UG course in SBS Dehradun and must have secured at least 60% in the qualifying exams for PG courses. |
Sports quota (For Sikh Minority and General) | Candidates can avail of a scholarship of 25% to 100% based on merit in sports (Football, Cricket, Basketball and Table tennis) |
Rules for availing of SBS Dehradun Scholarships
Candidates can only apply for one scholarship.
If candidates are eligible for more than one scholarship, they may choose the higher of the two options in the year of admission.
Students can also avail of scholarships provided by their respective state governments or the central government.
Every year, the continuation of a student’s scholarship is subject to being reviewed by a committee appointed by the Vice Chancellor and led by the Dean of Academics.
Scholarship Applicants must submit their mark sheets, Character certificates and other documents for verification, which will be returned upon inspection.
Candidates are encouraged to check the eligibility criteria for each of their selected scholarships.
