    Sidho Kanho Birsha University is state university located in Purulia West Bengal India established in 2010. SKBU occupies a campus area of 12.84 hectares and has evolvcd into a major higher learning institution in the area. The university is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, approved by the University Grants Commission as well. As of now, the total number of students in SKBU is 15,083 for 299 courses spread across 16 degrees of arts, science, and-commerce stream. Total proficiency of the members of the faculty of the university tends to 99 members, which guarantees the quality education and counseling for the members of the university.

    Sidho Kanho Birsha University has proclaimed its vision of offering quality learning facilities hence improving its student learning. It has at its core a central library spread over seven floors which provides high speed Wi-Fi connection and a host of books, journals and e- resources. The university likewise also provides and ensures fully equipped laboratories for respective departments to provide practical trainings to students. Moreover, SKBU has been set up a medical facility center within the campus to meet with the medical requirements of students and workers.
