    About Sikkim University

    The Sikkim University was established in 2007 by the government of India. The university is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with grade “A”. Sikkim University Gangtok is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The mission and vision of the university is to provide quality education and nurture professionals to serve the society and the nation.

    The popular courses offered by Sikkim University are B.A., B.P.A., M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, M.B.A, M.C.A., M.P.A., M.T.T.M., M.Ed., L.L.M, M.Phil and Ph.D. Admission to UG and PG programmes are done on the basis of merit score of the CUET entrance test, candidates approaching admission UG programmes in Sikkim University must appear in CUET UG and PG courses should appear in CUET PG examination. The Sikkim University has six schools of studies. Sikkim University also has three research centers, namely Centre for Endangered Languages funded by the UGC, Maulana Azad Centre for Northeast Studies funded by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkata and Centre for Bioinformatics funded by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
