UP King George’s University of Dental Science, Lucknow, was established in 2004 is a state university specifically for dental faculties. This institution is situated in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh and the campus of this institution is surprisingly large and comprises of an area of 24.71 Acres. It is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) which means it meets with the proper standard. With a faculty strength of 60 members, the university offers three specialised dental programmes. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) offered in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology are the courses being offered. These programmes are therefore offered to anyone who wishes to become a dental professional, they equip the students with knowledge in dental sciences.

The MDS programme, which is also a full- time programme, afford advanced specialisation in oral pathology and microbiology.

UP King George’s University of Dental Science has competitive admission criteria, which mostly include national entrance examination. In BDS programme, the admission is taken through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET-UG), and there are 70 seats for taking admission through this test. For admission the candidate must pass the NEET-UG and have to attend for counselling process. In case of MDS programme, the university recognises NEET MDS scores. These standardised tests help guarantee the university enrols students possessing adequate scientific background and ability to succeed in dental courses.
