Carmel College Thrissur is one of the leading institution which was set up in the year 1981 at Mala, Kerala. This affiliated college has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and it has varied number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Situated in a spacious 16.92 acre facility, this college offers a total of 1674 students strength & 76 members of faculties.

It is also proud of its recently developed infrastructures that facilitate the teaching process for the college students. The central capital of academic resources is a fully automated library that has more than 30,000 books in its storage. It also offers membership in more than 6000 e-journals and 160800 e-books under the N-LIST program of INFLIBNET. Facilities of well-equipped Laboratories, smart class rooms & Modern IT Infrastructure as a part of practical and academic teaching tools etc. For extra activities, the college possesses an Auditorium cum Indoor stadium that has a capacity of 1200 people and used as Playing ground of shuttle badminton and volley ball. The institution also has special facilities and accommodation for conferences, seminars and audio visual aid. The courses in Carmel College are designed to meet the educational needs of a cross section of the population in terms of course specialization or career goals. The college offers twenty one undergraduate courses including traditional science courses offered by other colleges such as B.Sc in Mathematics, Botany and Chemistry and arts courses such as BA Functional English, Sociology etc. It also provides unique B.Voc programs in Software Development, Multimedia, Fashion Technology and Banking & Financial Service. 

For the post graduate level, the college offers 9 courses of which are MA in History, Sociology, English, M.Sc in Mathematics, Botany and Chemistry. The institution offers its courses to a total of 1674 students in total, with more seat adapted to the famous courses like B.Voc Software Development and Multimedia, B.Com Finance, and BBA those requiring 50, 50, 40, and 40 seats respectively.
