Government Polytechnic, Jammu Facilities
Govt Polytechnic Jammu provides a range of facilities for the ease of students an staff. Govt Polytechnic Jammu facilities include an auditorium, Library, Dispensary, Parking, Guest House, and Canteen. Govt Polytechnic Jammu facilities also include hostel facility for male students. The Government Polytechnic Jammu hostel has 40 rooms and 6 dormitories and the capacity of the hostel is around 130. The hostel is equipped with all basic facilities. It is barely a 2-3 minute walk from the main campus.
The Government Polytechnic Jammu Hostel fee is Rs 700 (Rs 100 refundable) per year. A hostel fee of Rs 200 will be refunded to the students on the production of the original hostel admission receipt while leaving the hostel. - Boys Hostel
The college hostel is equipped with all basic facilities. Each room is fitted with a ceiling fan. It has a well-furnished dining hall, facility of TV room, rooms for games for recreation etc. The hostel is beautified by lush green lawn and is laden with trees like Chinar, Palm etc. Above all, the hostel has a dedicated, 24-hour, special power supply line. In addition to a regular PHE connection, one hand-pump is installed to cater to the water shortage. There is a very conducive atmosphere for studies because the hostel building is at a good distance from the residential areas.
- Girls Hostel
The college hostel is equipped with all basic facilities. Each room is fitted with a ceiling fan. - Library
The college Library at present has more than 21,583 books. Books are issued to students for a period of one month on production of valid college Identity Card. The library has two different halls viz. Books Section and Reading Room Section. it is rich in General Books, Learning Resources Centre (LRC), Reference Books besides books related to the current syllabus of J&K SBOTE. The seating capacity is being augmented to accommodate a large number of students and make use of library facilities.
- Auditorium
The College auditoriums is one of the best auditoriums in Jammu city. The auditorium has a seating capacity of more than 250 persons. It is fully air-conditioned and has all audio-visual gadgets, a proper lighting system, and good acoustics. It is backed up with a 40KVA generator, in case of a power failure during the event.
- Cafeteria
The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.
- Medical/Hospital
The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.
- I.T Infrastructure
The college has excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The College has an invite all the ex-students to join the Alumni Program of Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk, Women Jammu.
- Guest Room/Waiting Room
The college has a Guest House of Govt. Polytechnic constitutes 4 rooms, 1 conference hall, a kitchen, and some open space. The rooms are air-conditioned and have facilities like TV, geysers, etc. The conference hall has a capacity of about 25 persons and it is equipped with a PA system. The Guest House can be hired by private as well as Government organizations on a payment basis. The preference is given to the guest of the institution.
- Parking Facility
The college has a parking space facility for its faculty, staff, and students.
