    MGMCRI Pondicherry Admission 2026: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Cutoff & Application Form

    MGMCRI Pondicherry Admission Process

    MGMCRI offers UG – MBBS, PG – MD/MS, PG – MSc Medical, SS – DM / MCh, Allied Health Science and PhD programmes to the students. Admission to M.Sc medical course is offered on the basis of the Common Entrance Test - SBVDUCET conducted by Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth. Admission to Undergraduate Allied Health Science Courses and B.Pharma Course is based on Common Entrance Test for UG AHS course and B.Pharma course and for undergraduate Allied Health Science CoursesShortlisted candidates will have to appear for an interview. Admission to MBBS course is offered on the basis of NEET UG  exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) whereas NEET PG exam conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE) is the admission criteria for admission to MD/MS course. MGMCRI offers admission to DM/MCh course on the basis of NEET Super-Specialty (NEET SS) conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE). Mahatma Gandhi Medical College And Research Institute, Pondicherry admission process is given below in details.

    Undergraduate Allied Health Science Courses and B.Pharma Course

    • Aspirants fulfilling the eligibility criteria have to apply online and submit an application form on the website of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Deemed University.
    • Candidates have to appear for the Common Entrance Test for UG AHS course and B.Pharma course.
    • Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the rank secured in the entrance test.
    • For undergraduate Allied Health Science CoursesShortlisted candidates will have to appear for an interview and candidates qualifying the interview shall be shortlisted for the last stage of the admission process.
    • The last stage of the admission process comprises document verification and fee payment and admission is confirmed only once the document gets verified and the course fee is paid.

    MBBS

    • Candidates have to apply and appear for NEET UG exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
    • Candidates with required NEET percentile will have to register for NEET UG Counselling.
    • Further candidates have to participate in the counselling process for choice filling, choice locking and seat allotment.
    • The counselling is conducted by The Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
    • Aspirants have to choose Mahatma Gandhi Medical College And Research Institute, Pondicherry for the choice locking during the counselling.
    • After the seat allotment, candidates have to report to MGMCRI for institute level document verification and fee payment.
    • Final admission will be based on the marks secured in NEET UG , participation in the counselling process, seat allotment, document verification and fee payment.

    M.Sc Medical

    • Candidates wishing to take admission to the M.Sc course offered by MGMCRI have to apply on the website of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Deemed University and submit the application form.
    • Aspirants have to appear for the Common Entrance Test - SBVDUCET conducted by Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth. 
    • A rank list will be published in order to shortlist the students for the further admission procedure.
    • Shortlisted candidates have to participate in the university level document verification and fee payment.
    • Final admission to the M.Sc course will be offered on the basis of rank secured in the SBVDUCET and participation in the university level document verification and fee payment.

    MD/MS Course

    • Candidates have to apply and appear for NEET PG  exam conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE) for Mahatma Gandhi Medical College And Research Institute, Pondicherry admission.
    • Medical aspirants have to secure the minimum qualifying percentile and register for the counselling process.
    • Further, candidates have to participate in the counselling process conducted by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and they have to choose Mahatma Gandhi Medical College And Research Institute, Pondicherry for the choice locking during the counselling.
    • After the seat has been allotted, students have to report to the college and get their documents verified and pay the fee.
    • Final admission will be based on the marks secured in NEET PG , participation in the counselling process, seat allotment, document verification and fee payment.

    DM/MCh

    • Candidates aspiring to take admission to DM/MCh programmes have to apply and appear for NEET Super-Specialty (NEET SS) conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE).
    • Candidates have to register for counselling on the basis of merit of NEET SS.
    • Further, candidates have to participate in the online counselling conducted by the Medical Council Committee and they have to choose MGMCRI during the choice filling in the counselling process
    • Once the seat has bee allotted to the medical aspirant, he/she has to report to Mahatma Gandhi Medical College And Research Institute, Pondicherry for document verification and fee payment. 
    • Final admission to DM/MCh course will be based on NEET SS, participation in the counselling process, seat allotment, document verification and fee payment.

    Postgraduate Allied Health Science Courses

    • Candidates desirous to take admission to postgraduate Allied Health Science Courses offered by Mahatma Gandhi Medical College And Research Institute, Pondicherry have to firstly fill in and submit an application form on the website of SBVDU.
    • Admission shall be based on the merit of the qualifying examination that is THE marks secured in graduation.
    • A merit list will be published on the basis of the merit of the qualifying examination in order to select the candidates for the further admission procedure.
    • Shortlisted candidates will be a part of the final stage of the admission process that comprises document verification and fee payment.
    • Fee payment and document verification is a mandatory step for confirmation of admission.
    • Thus, the final admission of the candidates who are successful in getting admission is based on the merit of the qualifying exam document verification and fee payment.

     PhD

    • PhD aspirants have to submit an online application on the website of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Deemed University. Candidates have to appear for a national level entrance exam that comprises Part I & Part II.
    • Candidates have to secure at least 40% marks each in Part I & Part II and a total of 50% combining Part I & Part II in order to qualify for the next round of interview.
    • Candidates who have a valid Research Fellowship from recognized external agencies like ICMR, DST or equivalent are exempted from the Entrance Test and they will be directly called for Interview.
    • Aspirants qualifying the entrance test have to further appear for an interview and qualify it.
    • Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of National Level Entrance Test and personal interview with a weightage of 70% and 30% respectively.
    • Shortlisted candidates will participate in the counselling process for seat allotment, verification of documents and fee payment.
    • Final admission to the PhD programme National Level Entrance Test and personal interview, participation in the counselling process for seat allotment, verification of documents and fee payment.

    Academics

    i have studied MBBS degree. The teachers are sincere and friendly. We had a great learning experience. The curriculum is updated regularly. Our internship training made us ready to practice privately and also get jobs outside easily.

    College Infra

    Good infrastructure, clean and spacious classrooms, and a fantastic library. Hostel rooms are okay. cleaned periodically and maintained well. Food can sometimes be disappointing. Sports meet conducted every year enthusiastically.

    Campus Life

    we had a beautiful campus, neatly maintained, and a nice environment to be in. we has our emergency needs taken care of as soon as possible. It's safe in all aspects. we even had group sessions held with in-charge faculties to talk out our minds and discuss problems and stress we undergo in career and personal life.

    Placements

    We had good placement options. Mot of us have planned to aspire for post graduate degree courses by NEET and other central institutes and college supported us by providing us with entrance preparation options during CRRI period.

    Value For Money

    The course fees was about 5.5 lakhs every year plus hostel fees about 1.25 to 1.5 lakhs for every yr. It's worth the amount. we had good lectures, learned variety of clinical cases and had all facilities and good maintenance in hostel.
