NIFT Mumbai Admission Process
National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai admission is a competitive process. The institute offers admission to a B.Design in 5 different specialisations, B.F.Tech Apparel Production, M.Des and MFM. NIFT Mumbai admissions are done through the NIFT exam. Depending upon the courses in which admission is desired, candidates need to appear for a Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) sessions.
For NIFT Mumbai admission to B.Des course, candidates need to appear for a CAT and GAT and after that shortlisted candidates need to undergo a situation test for the final selection. GAT exam is taken for B.F.Tech Apparel Production course. For NIFT Mumbai admission in PG Courses with this exams group discussion and personal interview session are also held.
NIFT Mumbai Application Process 2024
- Candidates need to verify that they meet the eligibility criteria outlined for their desired courses.

NIFT Mumbai UG Course Admission 2024
B.Design and B.F.Tech Apparel Production Courses are offered at UG level with the duration of 4 years. Candidates must fulfil the course's eligibility requirements in order to apply for these courses.

- Applicants must complete the application form in order to get admission in the B.Design programmes.
- The NIFT Entrance Exam is required of candidates in order to be admitted to the B.Design course at NIFT, Mumbai.
- For admission to the B.Design course, candidates need to appear for a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT).
- Shortlisted candidates need to undergo a situation test for the final selection.
- Candidates must also pass their class 12th exams.
- Finalisation is done after document verification and payment of fees.
NIFT Mumbai B.FTech Admission Process
- Candidates aspiring for the BFT Apparel Production Course need to complete the application form.
- Admission to the BFT Apparel Production Course at NIFT Mumbai requires a successful completion of the NIFT Entrance Exam.
- For admission to the programmes, candidates need to appear only for the General Ability Test (GAT) exam.
- Also candidates must have passed their 12th-grade examination from any recognized board.
- Final admission is contingent upon successful document verification and payment of fees.

NIFT Mumbai provides admission to MFM and M.Design Course at postgraduate level. Students intending to apply for the MFM and M.Design courses must ensure they meet the specified eligibility criteria.

- Admission to the MFM Course at NIFT Mumbai requires successful clearance of the NIFT Entrance Exam.
- Candidates will undergo a written test comprising a General Ability Test (GAT).
- Shortlisted candidates from this test will only participate in a Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) as part of the selection procedure.
- Final admission is done after the verification of all documents and payment of fees.
NIFT Mumbai M.Des Fashion Design Admission Process
- Candidates have to fill the application form first to get admission in the M.Design Course at NIFT Mumbai.
- After that NIFT entrance exam has to be given
- Candidates will have to appear for an examination consisting of a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT).
- Shortlisted candidates need to undergo a personal interview session.
- To confirm the admission, students have to pay the fees and go for the document verification.

Academics
The curriculum is same in all the campuses and pretty good faculties. They are teaching pretty good they always help students in getting the knowledge they have.. though faculty is a bit inexperienced in new campuses like daman and Srinagar but old campuses are amazing in terms of faculty. They will always be available to help you with internships and assignments.
College Infra
Nifts have almost all the facilities. it has amazing infrastructure.. almost all the campuses are completely air conditioned. Wi-Fi and labs are available for all the departments . Girls hostel have amazing facilities too. They have gym,acs ,Wi-Fi, laundary room with fully automatic machines and irons.. mess facility is available in the hostel itself.. thought hostel is at 10 mins walk away from the campus,but the place is beautiful and clean
Campus Life
Campus life is amazing though. You will meet a lot of amazing people with very different cultures and you will learn a lot.. nift is one of those campuses where u can be the jack of all trades or the king of one it's completely upon u. We have a lots of competitions and games here.. you can be whatever and however you wanna be ,no one will judge you.
Placements
If you are goin to nift ,you must know that to get a placement with good salary you have to work very hard here since day 1, campuses like Delhi and Mumbai are pretty good for that,though the placement is centralised but campus do add some value.. the avg placement is of like 4-5 LPA for starters.
Value For Money
Avg money per year will be around 5 LPA and it might look like it's not worth it in the Beginning but with hardwork u can make it work..if your passion is designing you are gonna love it

Academics
Basically in initial years we learn the subjects of mixed departments and in the later years we are given specialized knowledge about our own department. It is basically practical based course. But can't say it makes us job ready yet because I'm still learning in the initial year.
College Infra
Yes, the institute have most of the equipment which is required in an institute. But in terms of area, it is smaller than many other government institute. For the equipment part, it have various machines and labs for learning new things, some pcs are of older version but mostly function-able. Boys hostel is not at all good in comparison to girls hostel. there might be some technical issues in smart board but they are fine. And hygiene is properly maintained in campus.
Campus Life
As it is a practical course we engage ourselves in various machines and equipment and also visit various shops and marketing places to get the real knowledge. Sports and cultural activities are promoted in our college. During the exam week it become very hectic to submit various assignments and work at the same time.
Placements
Well, in the course we have to take internship in various firms which also helps in getting placements. And the institute offers a centralised placements which also helps in giving fair opportunity to everyone.
Value For Money
It demands a huge sum of money even after being a government college. And the students have to buy other materials for their work on their own which is really unfair after taking a lot of money already.
