The CSI College of Dental Science and Research is one of the new generation dental colleges in the Southern State of Tamil Nadu, India, which started its journey in 2007. Recognised by the Dental Council of India, this affiliated college extends specialised programmes for the dental professions. Located in a large 9 acres premises, the institute has a total enrolment of students 419 and total faculty members 148. The college offers 1 undergraduate and 6 postgraduate degree programmes in dentistry and offers different concentrations within the field of dentistry. And CSI College of Dental Science and Research is a co-educational college, so it strives to offer the best dental education for students while maintaining a culturally diverse campus.

The institute is proud to have a plethora of amenities, which can help make students’ educational process as comfortable as possible. College library occupies the leading place in storage and dissemination of information resources such as books, journals, and digital assets. It also encompasses other accomodations like internet connection, CD-ROM services, and discussion areas for group meetings. For the practical areas, the college has functional and well equipped laboratory for various dental specialties. The self-sustained multi-specialty Dental Hospital that exists on the college campus serves a major purpose in giving the student clinical practical exposure. It is an advantage for students to be taught using modern equipment together with the assistance of qualified personnel in different specialties of dentistry. The college also takes into account such aspects of student concern and provide different hostels for boys and girls. These hostels are having neat and clean accountable accommodation with large and airy rooms, hygienically prepared nutritious food and having provisions like gym and indoor games etc. For proper and comprehensive development of the students, the institute has sport facilities and an auditorium for games extra curriculum and other functions.

Overall, CSI College of Dental Science and Research has 7 courses which are all weekday programmes. The institute currently has 1 undergraduate course, BDS, and 6 postgraduate courses, MDS in dental specialties. The total approved intake for all courses combined is 118, thus PAC provides enough chances for those who dream of becoming dental professionals. The BDS, which is the basic under graduate course in dentistry has the largest enrolment capacity with 100 students. All the postgraduate MDS courses – Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Periodontology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Pathology and Microbiology – offer 3 seats each so that rigorous specialisation could be achieved in these fields.

The admission procedure of CSI College of Dental Science and Research is majorly central entrance tests. In the case of the BDS program the candidate should qualify through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduate (NEET UG). This helps to ensure that, indeed, the college receives students with the fundamentality in sciences and ability to pursue dental studies. For admission to the postgraduate MDS programs the college accepts the scores of NEET MDS examination.
