There are about 11000 seats in all IITs. And older ones may have alone 5000 seats. So now coming to the points
If you want CS in any IIT than you should have rank less than 500. For core branches your rank should be in 5000 for good IITs.after 5000 ranks you will lower branches in good colleges. And after 7000 you will get new IITs and also lower branches.
For for a good IIT with core branch you should have rank less than 5000.
