Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Civil Engineering is a four-year (8 Semesters) full-time undergraduate program offered by National Institute of Technology Silchar.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12 th /qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Main). The candidates who have taken four subjects are not permitted to write JEE (Main) and if such candidates appear in JEE (Main) by furnishing wrong information, their rank/result will not be declared.

Admission Details

Admissions to the first semester of all Undergraduate courses are made on the basis of seats allocated by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) from the list of candidates selected by all India JEE (Main). Besides, a specified number of foreign nationals/NRIs selected under the policy laid down by Govt. of India, are admitted directly to the 1^st year of the courses.

College Infrastructure

The NIT Campus consists of 610 acres of area which consists of green trees and more than 10 lakes.The Hostels are clean along with it contains all the basic facilities needed for the students of the college.

College Infrastructure

It is pretty good. Spacious with a fully digitalized central library and an advanced computing centre, NIT Silchar makes into the top NITs in terms of its infrastructures and facilities. However, the internet speed at some of the hostels is below average ranging from about 0.5 MBPS to about 1 MBPS. The internet speeds at the library and computer centres are quite satisfactory though.

Overall it is a good college, but choose wisely.

College Infrastructure

The infrastructure of the college is good and maintained. And yes there is lan connection inside the hostel .There are are old and new class rooms new class rooms have installed desktop with projectors and all classes have chalk board . Library is also good, it has necessary books for the courses offered by the college and some magazines only. Wifi is also available inside library. Food in the hostel is so-so at first day it will be good but they don't maintain the quality and hygine with time.
