Admissions to the first semester of all Undergraduate courses are made on the basis of seats allocated by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) from the list of candidates selected by all India JEE (Main). Besides, a specified number of foreign nationals/NRIs selected under the policy laid down by Govt. of India, are admitted directly to the 1^st year of the courses.

NIT Silchar Admission Process

National Institute of Technology Silchar admissions are available for total of 42 courses. NIT Silchar admissions are offered for 6 undergrdauate, 25 postgraduate and 11 Doctoral courses. Before applying for NIT Silchar admissions the aspiring candidates should appear for the relevant entrance examination. which includes JEE Main/GATE/CAT/MAT/CMAT

The NIT Silchar admissions will be based on the scores obtained in the entrance examination. The admissions to the B.Tech course at NIT Silchar are made through JoSAA based on the score in JEE Main. For NIT Silchar admission to the M.Tech course, candidates have to qualify for GATE and participate in CCMT counselling. The CCMN counselling procedure will be conducted for NIT Silchar admission to the M.Sc course. Candidates should submit the required documents along with the admission fee of NIT Silchar courses to complete the NIT Silchar admission process.

M.E/M.Tech	Candidates should register for COAP counselling. Fill out the application form NIT Silchar with the required details. Candidates should pay NIT Silchar application fee of Rs 1000 for Gen/GEN-EWS/OBCNCL and Rs 500 for SC/ST/PwD
M.Sc	Aspirants who got selected through CCMN counselling must visit the institute. Candidate has to report physically at the institute and pay the application fee along with the submission of necessary documents.
MBA	Students can apply for admission by visiting the official website and fill out the application form with the required details. Candidates should meet the scan and upload the documents. Pay the NIT Silchar application fee of Rs 1500 for General/OBC and Rs 1000 for SC/ST/EWS candidates.
PhD	Fill out the NIT Silchar PhD application form with the required details. Pay the NIT Silchar application fee of PhD of amount Rs 1000 (for Open/OBC) OR Rs 500 (for SC/ST/ PwD) along with the submission of required documents.

NIT Silchar M.Tech Admission Procedure

The eligible candidates can apply for the desired course by visiting the official website of the institute.
Candidates applying for M.Tech courses are required to appear for GATE entrance examination.
Candidates who meet NIT Silchar Cutoff for the M.Tech courses are required to appear for the counselling process.
Admission to M.Tech courses is done through the CCMT counselling procedure.
The selected candidate will be informed regarding the seat allotment through a registered mobile number/mail ID.
The final selected candidate should submit the required documents.
To complete the NIT Silchar admission procedure the candidate should pay the course fee.

NIT Silchar M.Sc Admission Procedure

Candidates applying for the courses are required to meet and appear for JAM.
The eligible candidates are requested to fill up the application form from the official website.
Candidates who meet the cutoff requirement of the course are required to attend CCMN counselling sessions.
The counselling session consists of registration, choice filing, seat assignment and payment confirmation.
After seats are allotted, the selected candidates are required to complete the fee payment process for final admissions.

NIT Silchar MBA Admission Procedure

Candidates must verify that they meet the requirements for NIT Silchar M.B.A. admissions.
Eligible candidates must take the CAT/MAT/CMAT entrance exam.
The authorities will announce the NIT Silchar cutoff.
Candidates must attend the counselling.
Candidates must choose the NIT Silchar M.B.A. programme during counselling to be admitted.
The authorities also issue the final merit list.
The final selected candidates for NIT Silchar MBA admission 2025 must attend on the specified day for document verification.

Academics

Teachers are helpful, but they are not qualified for their posts and their teaching is not good. One teacher takes two or three subjects, and their teaching quality is poor. They only focus on theory not on practical, and the semester exam is a little difficult.

At my time, their were many great teachers because of whom we were getting those high packages no doubt it just feels very easy and understandable when they teach. At our time some changes were made in the course subjects that were very helpful.

The teachers were very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant and it is very helpful for the future. Yes, it makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are quite difficult, if you perfectly concentrate on your study then easily score good.

The Department of Management Studies, NIT Silchar offers decent placement opportunities to its MBA programme students. The placements statistics have considerably improved over the past few years. For the year 2024, the MBA department witnessed 90.70% placements. More than 50+ job offers were made to students. NIT Silchar MBA highest package stood at Rs. 14 LPA and the average package of the placed graduates stood at Rs. 8 LPA.

Similarly, the summer internship report for the batch of 2023-2025 also seems to be quite impressive as 40+ recruiters participated in the internship process. The highest stipend offered was Rs. 49,000 while the average stipend for the top 10% of the batch stood at Rs. 30,000.

Some of the recruiters who participated in the NIT Silchar MBA placements were Dabur, TCS, IDBI Bank, Wipro, ITC Limited, Deloitte, HDFC Bank, etc.

I get 81.12 percentile can get nit silchar in sc category

If you score 81.12 percentile in JEE Mains, then your category rank would be around 20,00 in the SC category. It's too tough to get into NIT Silchar with this rank. Therefore, I recommend not solely depending on JOSAA counseling with this rank. You also need to participate in CSAB rounds, which will increase your chances of getting into any NITs or other good government engineering colleges with this rank.

My buddy, who is studying in mechanical engineering, enrolled at NIT Silchar in the spot round of 2018. Depending on the competition that year, marks may change. As time goes on, there are also more seats available. His score at the time was 136, and his rank was 25410.
