NIT Silchar: Admission 2026, Cutoff, Courses, Fees, Placements, Ranking

National Institute of Technology Silchar admissions are available for total of 42 courses.  NIT Silchar admissions are offered for 6 undergrdauate, 25 postgraduate and 11 Doctoral courses.   Before applying for NIT Silchar admissions the aspiring candidates should appear for the relevant entrance examination. which includes JEE Main/GATE/CAT/MAT/CMAT

The institute provides a separate portal for student login. The students can access the NIT Silchar login portal by giving the details of their username and password. The portal shows the details of the admissions status, the latest and upcoming events of the institute, placement cell details, and many others.

The National Institute of Technology offers undergraduate courses which include B.Tech. The duration of the NIT Silchar UG course is 4 years.

• The candidates have to appear for the JEE Main examination and secure a valid score.
• Eligible candidates can apply for the NIT Silchar admissions.

NIT Silchar M.Tech Admission Procedure

• The eligible candidates can apply for the desired course by visiting the official website of the institute.
• Candidates applying for M.Tech courses are required to appear for GATE entrance examination. 
• Candidates who meet NIT Silchar Cutoff for the M.Tech courses are required to appear for the counselling process. 
• Admission to M.Tech courses is done through the CCMT counselling procedure.
• The selected candidate will be informed regarding the seat allotment through a registered mobile number/mail ID.
• The final selected candidate should submit the required documents.

NIT Silchar M.Sc Admission Procedure

• Candidates applying for the courses are required to meet and appear for JAM.
• The eligible candidates are requested to fill up the application form from the official website.
• Candidates who meet the cutoff requirement of the course are required to attend CCMN counselling sessions. 
• The counselling session consists of registration, choice filing, seat assignment and payment confirmation. 
• After seats are allotted, the selected candidates are required to complete the fee payment process for final admissions. 

NIT Silchar MBA Admission Procedure

• Candidates must verify that they meet the requirements for NIT Silchar M.B.A. admissions.
• Eligible candidates must take the CAT/MAT/CMAT entrance exam.
• The authorities will announce the NIT Silchar cutoff.
• Candidates must attend the counselling.
• Candidates must choose the NIT Silchar M.B.A. programme during counselling to be admitted.
• The authorities also issue the final merit list.
• The final selected candidates for NIT Silchar MBA admission 2025 must attend on the specified day for document verification.
• To complete the NIT Silchar admission process the candidate should pay the course fees. 

The institute offers admissions for doctoral programmes. The PhD courses are offered in various specialisations. The NIT Silchar PhD course lasts for 6 years. 

NIT Silchar Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

• Eligible candidates have to apply for PhD admission to the National Institute of Technology Silchar.
• The qualifying candidate will be invited for the written test/interview.
• The eligible candidate has to appear for the interview.

NIT Silchar Counselling Procedure

The candidates can attend the NIT Silchar counselling process after qualifying for the relevant entrance examination. Candidates should attend the NIT Silchar counselling with all original certificates. Candidates should submit all the required documents successfully. The candidate must pay the DD at the time of counselling. JOSAA/CSAB will conduct the B.Tech. counselling, whereas CCMT will conduct the M.Tech. counselling. The CCMN will be conducted for M.Sc. The candidates should attend the respective NIT Silchar counselling process to get admitted.

The seat matrix has been released by the JoSAA. National Institute of Technology Silchar has a total of 903 seats. The NIT Silchar admissions to B.Tech will be based on the scores secured in the JEE Main examination.
