Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), Gandhinagar offers scholarships or financial assistance in the name of a fellowship/ scholarship on a merit basis. The university offers a wide range of scholarships to its diploma, UG, PG and PhD students. PDEU scholarships are offered to meritorious students in the form of full and half tuition fee waivers. To avail PDEU scholarships, candidates are required to scholarship eligibility criteria set by the university. 

To become eligible for the continuance of the Pandit Deendayal Energy University scholarship in subsequent years, the students are required to secure a minimum SPI (differs with each course) in the first semester. However, candidates also have to pass every semester examination at the first attempt besides regular attendance. 

Some of the PDEU scholarships are Scholarships for BTech Programme (Merit Scholarship), Special Merit Scholarships, Scholarships for Diploma to Degree, Scholarship for MTech Programme, Scholarship for MBA Programme, Scholarship for MSc Programme (Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics), Scholarship for MA Programme and Scholarship for PhD Programme. Pandit Deendayal Energy University Scholarships: Financial Assistance for BTech Programme

Merit Scholarship: Full Tuition Fee Waiver

All the students who will take admissions at Pandit Deendayal Energy University in a given band of JEE and ACPC rank for various programmes will get full tuition fee waiver.

To become eligible for the continuance of the scholarship, the students are required:

i. To have earned a minimum SPI of 8 in the 1st semester, and also of 8.5 in every subsequent semester.

ii. To have passed every semester exam at the first attempt besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behaviour and compliance with all other norms, as prescribed by the university from time to time.

Special Scholarship for Defence/ CAPF Persons in BTech Programme:

• 100% tuition fee waiver to wards of Gallantry Award winner or those who made supreme sacrifice for the nation i.e. fatal battle casualty. Candidate has to present proof of award from respective organisation.
• 50% tuition fee waiver to the ward of war injured / war disabled soldier of the defence force and CAPF. The candidate has to present war disability certificate from the respective organisation.
• 50% tuition fee waiver to the wards soldiers whose annual income less than 8.0 lakhs. The candidate has to present income certificate.

Merit cum Means Scholarship: Full Tuition Fee Waiver

To become eligible for the continuance of the scholarship, the students are required:

i. To have earned a minimum SPI of 8 in the 1st semester, and also of 8.5 in every subsequent semester.

ii. To have passed every semester examination at the first attempt besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behaviour and compliance with all other norms, as prescribed by the University from time to time.

iii. Total annual income (from all sources) of the student’s family should not exceed Rs. 10.00 Lacs in the previous financial year.

Merit Scholarship: Half Tuition Fee Waiver- For SC & ST category students

To become eligible for the continuance of the scholarship, the students are required:

i. To have earned a minimum SPI of 7 in the 1st semester, and also of 7.5 in every subsequent semester.

ii. To have passed every semester examination at the first attempt besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behaviour and compliance with all other norms, as prescribed by the university from time to time

Merit Scholarship: Half Tuition fee waiver- For Female students only

To become eligible for the continuance of the scholarship, the students are required:

i. To have earned a minimum SPI of 8 in the 1st semester, and also of 8.5 in every subsequent semester.

ii. To have passed every semester examination at the first attempt besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behaviour and compliance with all other norms, as prescribed by the university from time to time.

Special Merit Scholarship

• 25% tuition fee waiver for all students getting admitted as per the intake in B. Tech of Civil / Electrical / Petroleum Engineering.
• Admission is either through All India Seats or ACPC seats.
• The scholarship will continue up to the final semester for the students passing fully with a minimum 6.5 CPI in Sem. - I and onwards. (This provision is not applicable to admissions on NRI seats/TFW seats).

PDEU Scholarships: Financial Assistance for Diploma to Degree

Merit Scholarship: Full Tuition Fee Waiver

• The scheme is applicable to Diploma to Degree B.Tech students securing admission in the third semester of the current academic year.
• The continuation of the scholarship in a subsequent semester shall be subject to a minimum 6.5 CPI in the End Semester Examination of the previous semester, besides fulfilment of other norms, e.g., regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behaviour.
• A student shall not be eligible for his/her scholarship in the next semester/s if he/she fails to satisfy any of the specified criteria; in such case, there shall not be any replacement of the student/s for the scholarship.
• The scholarship shall be withdrawn at any stage if the information furnished is false and/or it is found later that the student was involved in any indiscipline inside/outside the campus.

Merit cum Means Scholarship: Half Tuition Fee Waiver

• The scholarship amount will be 50% of the Tuition Fees for the semester.
• The total annual family income (from all sources) of the student’s family should not exceed Rs. 8.00 Lakhs.
• The continuation of the scholarship in a subsequent semester shall be subject to a minimum 6.5 CPI in the End Semester Examination of the previous semester, besides fulfillment of other norms, e.g., regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behaviour.
• A student shall not be eligible for his/her scholarship in the next semester/s if he/she fails to satisfy any specified criteria; in such case/s, there shall not be any replacement of the student/s for the scholarship.
• The scholarship shall be withdrawn at any stage if the information furnished is false and/or it is found later that the student was involved in any indiscipline inside/outside the campus.

Special Merit Scholarships

• 25% tuition fee waiver for all students getting admitted as per the intake in diploma to degree lateral entry admission in semester-III in 2023-24 Batch of Automobile, Civil and Electrical Engineering.
• The continuation of the scholarship in the subsequent semester shall be subject to a minimum 6.5 CPI in the End Semester Examination of the previous semester.

Note:

• No scholarships are applicable to admissions on TFW seats.
• The grant of any scholarship is subject to the condition that the candidate does not receive any financial assistance in the form of fee waiver, scholarship, any payments, salary, stipend, etc., from any other source(s) during his/her course of study at the university.

PDEU Scholarships: Financial Assistance for MTech Programme

The University offers financial assistance as per its availability, from its own resources as a Scholarship which is as follows:

• For candidates having qualified and valid GATE score and admitted in Phase I only Rs. 12,400/- per month.
• For candidates admitted under Phase-II - Non-GATE category admission process: Rs. 8000/- per month, subject to the conditions that;

i. The number of such candidates-beneficiaries will be limited to the number of GATE category seats in the respective branch if remain unfilled/vacant.

ii. The selection of candidates for the scholarships will be as per the admission merit, and further such candidates should have secured a minimum 50% score overall for the parameters considered for the admission merit. 

A total of nine scholarships combining above mentioned A & B would be available in each discipline of MTech.

• Other Conditions:

i. To become eligible for the continuance of any one of above mentioned financial assistance, the respective candidate is required (1) To have earned a minimum CPI of 6.5 in every semester. (2) To have passed every semester examinations at the first attempt besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behaviour and compliance with other norms, as prescribed by the University from time to time.

ii. The grant of the scholarship is subject to the condition that the candidate does not receive any financial assistance in the form of fee waiver, scholarship, any emoluments, salary, stipend etc. from any other source(s) during his/her course of study at the University.

iii. No scholarship will be given to the candidate who passes the GATE examination after securing admission.

iv. The Scholarship will be granted to the candidate on a monthly basis subject to satisfactory academic performance and adherence to the University / Institute norms/rules and regulations as applicable from time to time, certified by the Head of the Department / School Director / Dean and obligatory work as mentioned.

v. Foreign candidates and/ or sponsored candidates are not eligible for the scholarship.

vi. The candidate shall be required to give an undertaking to the effect that he/she would not leave the program midway. In case any candidate leaves the course in midway he/she will be required to refund the total scholarship drawn so far, at the time of leaving the programme.

vii. The Scholarship may be discontinued at any time for any kind of misconduct by the candidate, like involvement in the act of ragging, misbehaviour etc.

viii. The scholarship can continue in the second year of the study not beyond the dissertation submission.

ix. It will be obligatory on the part of every postgraduate candidate to undertake 8 to 10 hours (per week) of work related to academic & co-academic and research activities as assigned to him/her from time to time. This includes tutorials, laboratory classes, development and maintenance of laboratories, assistance in research and activities undertaken by faculty members, maintenance and operation of computer and other central facilities, assistance in library, examinations, etc.

PDEU Financial Assistance for MBA Programme

Merit-cum-Means Scholarships (50% Tuition Fee waiver) are available as per the university scholarship policy for MBA students.

A maximum of 10 Merit-cum-Means Scholarships (50% Tuition Fee waiver) are available as per the PDEU scholarship policy for School of Petroleum Management. The policy stipulates that the family income (from all sources) of the candidate, in the previous financial year should not exceed INR 10 Lakhs. Also to be considered for the scholarship process, the candidate should have scored a minimum 85 percentile in CAT/XAT/NMAT applicable for admissions.

Pandit Deendayal Energy University Scholarships: Financial Assistance for M.Sc Programme (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics)

Research-based Assistantship of Rs. 25,000 per semester will be given to all enrolled students for all the semesters and will be paid at the end of the respective semester. The student has to maintain a CPI of 6.5 or above throughout the course duration (all 4 semesters) to be eligible for the research assistantship.

PDEU Scholarships for MA Programme

• There are two Scholarship Schemes applicable for the M.A students securing admission. i) The In-house Scholarship Scheme for graduate students from PDEU. ii) The Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme for graduates from other institutions.
• Eligibility criteria for the award of the In-house scholarship scheme in the First Semester: Available to all the graduates from PDEU in the first semester of Master Programme. i) Minimum CPI of 7.0 in undergraduate course. ii) Performance of the candidate in MA admission personal interview round.
• Eligibility criteria for the In-House scholarship scheme from the second semester onwards: To have earned a minimum SPI of 7.0 in second semester (PG), and also of 7.0 SPI in every subsequent semester of the Master Programme.
• To have passed every semester examination at the first attempt besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behaviour and compliance with all other norms, as prescribed by the University from time to time.
• In case of a tie between two students, the amount of scholarship will be equally divided.
• A candidate once ineligible in any semester won’t be eligible to re-apply for scholarships.
• The students availing the benefit of the scholarship are required to work as Teaching Assistant for 10 hours per week with the Department/Faculties during the period of the scholarship.
• To continue availing the scholarship scheme in second and onward semesters the student fresh applications will be invited from all students and then subject to their eligibility, the scholarship will be offered to the students in Merit subject to the norms.
• Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme: The basic eligibility criteria is the Total Annual Income (from all Sources) of the student’s family should not be exceeding Rs. 10.00 Lacs.
• Two meritorious students from each stream/subject of Master Programme are eligible for this scholarship per semester. A candidate once ineligible in any semester won’t be eligible to re-apply for scholarships. No new candidate shall be allowed in between any of the programme.
• Eligibility criteria for the award Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme in First Semester: Fifty (50%) of the marks secured in the graduation examination and Fifty (50 %) of the marks obtained in the MA Admission Entrance Examination (Online) subject to the overall minimum 65% marks will be considered for the scholarship in the first semester.
• Eligibility criteria for the award of merit cum means scholarship scheme from the second semester onwards: To become eligible for the continuance of the scholarship in subsequent semesters, the students are required to have earned a minimum SPI of 7.0 in the 1st Semester, and also of 7.0 SPI in every subsequent semester.
• To have passed every semester examination at the first attempt besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behaviour and compliance with all other norms, as prescribed by the University from time to time.
• In case of a tie between two students, the amount of scholarship will be equally divided.
• A candidate once ineligible in any semester won’t be eligible to re-apply for scholarships.

Pandit Deendayal Energy University Scholarships: PhD Programme

The university offers financial assistance from its own resources as per its availability in the name of scholarships, who would qualify as per the norms specified below on a merit basis as follows:

• Up to first two years: Rs. 25,000 per month as research scholarship
• In the third year: Rs.30,000 per month as research scholarship
