LLM or Master of Legislative Law is a postgraduate degree programme in the field of law . The course duration is two, depending on the institute. In India, more than 740 educational institutes offer LLM degrees out of which around 500 are privately owned and 240 are government institutes .

LLM helps in developing an analytical, logical, and critical understanding of legal affairs. Some of the law colleges are NLSIU Bangalore, NLU Delhi, NLU Hyderabad, and JMI New Delhi. Admissions are based on entrance examinations such as CLAT PG , LSAT, and AILET PG.

Master of Legislative Law is an advanced law course that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of legal procedures followed in the law profession. The LLM course is offered by colleges that are approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). Students who want to practise law in India, need to qualify All India Bar Examination (AIBE) conducted by the BCI.
