Barkatullah University originally known as Bhopal University, was established in 1970 in the capital of Madhya Pradesh. BU Bhopal received a 'B' grade accreditation from NAAC in 2015. BU Bhopal was renamed Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya in 1988 to honor the esteemed freedom fighter, Professor Barkatullah, a native of Bhopal.
