Chandraketugarh Sahidullah Smriti Mahavidyalaya was established in the year 1997. This co-educational affiliated college is situated at Berachampa, West Bengal, sprawling over 3.71 acres. Starting as a small institution, this has now emerged as a premier institution of learning in the district. CSSM has been awarded accreditation by NAAC. With an enrollment of 5,047 students and a faculty strength of 45, the college offers 12 courses in 4 programmes. The student body hails from within the state; it comprises 55% females and 45% males. All these put together manifest into a heterogeneous learning environment.

The college has a wide range of modern facilities for supporting its academic pursuits. It has a well-stocked library with more than 10,000 books on nearly 4,000 titles, covering all undertaken courses. It has a different reading section for teachers and students with a digital catalogue and internet facilities. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and internet facilities are provided free to all faculty members and students. CSSM also maintains well-equipped laboratories for practical learning experiences. Extracurricular activities include a magnificent football ground; annual sports and athletic meets are duly organized by the institution. Indoor games like chess, ludo, and carrom are encouraged, and related competitions are also held as a part of the Annual Sports Meet. A gymnasium and fitness center provide for the daily exercise needs of the students on campus.

CSSM offers a varied range of undergraduate courses in arts and sciences. The college offers 12 full-time courses at the undergraduate level. These include popular programmes like B.A. in various disciplines, viz., Bengali, English, History, Philosophy, Education, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology, and Arabic; B.Sc., and a unique course, that of B.Sc. in Agriculture and Rural Development. At Chandraketugarh Sahidullah Smriti Mahavidyalaya, admission to the Honours course is governed by merit.
