As a current student at Lovely Professional University, my understanding of placements is largely based on the experiences and outcomes of my seniors, interactions with faculty, and placement-related sessions conducted by the university. LPU has a dedicated placement and career development cell that actively works to bring companies from different sectors such as IT, core engineering, management, finance, and service industries. Every year, a large number of companies visit the campus, offering roles ranging from entry-level positions to specialized technical roles. From what seniors have shared, placements highly depend on individual effort. Students who maintain good academic performance, strong technical skills, and consistent practice in aptitude and communication tend to secure better offers. Seniors from computer science and IT-related branches who focused on programming, data structures, and internships were able to get placed in reputed companies with decent packages. The average package is moderate, but there are students who secure high-paying offers through strong skill sets, competitive coding, certifications, and projects. Mass recruiters offer stable opportunities for a large number of students, while higher packages usually require clearing multiple technical and interview rounds. The university provides placement training from early semesters, including aptitude preparation, mock interviews, resume building, and soft skills development. According to seniors, this training is helpful, but self-preparation alongside it is essential to stand out. Internships play a major role in placements. Seniors who completed internships during vacations or through university-supported programs found it easier to convert those experiences into full-time offers.
