    About Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences, New Delhi

    The Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences popularly called INMAS was established in 1956 is one of the oldest and most renowned Institution in New Delhi, India. As a constituent college of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), INMAS is actively engaged in research and development in fields, radiation imaging sciences, CBRN technologies. Located in North Delhi on Brig. S.K. Mazumdar Road, Timarpur, this co-educational institution has established its reputation for offering specialised programmes and state-of-art research equipments. INMAS is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) to establish its credibility and intent about delivering quality medical education and research facilities.

    Facilities available at  Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences are up-to-date facilities to facilitate its diversified research and educational activities. A total of 26,950 documents such as textbooks, reference, reports, theses, and journals can be found at the Institute’s library. It contributes roughly 531 new titles of books and serials each year and has 186 current journals in both print and electronic media subscriptions. These are added by the library membership from the DRDO E- Journals consortium, DELNET also open a pool of information resource of students and researchers. The laboratories in INMAS are also equally well equipped enough to support biomedical and clinical research fields especially in the domain of radiation, neuro cognitive imaging and CBRN.

    In terms of academic offerings INMAS offers only a specific post graduate specialisation programme. The institute awards the Diploma in Radiation Medicine, a two-year full-time course, which entrance is through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate (NEET PG). The intake of this programme is restricted to 4 students only so that each student gets good practical exposure. The competency-based course is tailored to train experts in the field of Radiation Medicine to meet the increasing demand of professionals in this important sub-specialty of medicine and science around the world.

    Admission to INMAS is very selective, therefore, the admission criteria are quite challenging The admission requirements are as follows: Prospective students must write the NEET PG examination, a test set and administered across the country that determines the candidates readiness to begin postgraduate medical studies. This guarantees that only the best and willing personnel are admitted to the programme. The admission may differ on annual basis, but one should have a calendar check on the NEET PG exam and the admission announcement made by the college.
