IIM Ranchi: Admission 2026, Cutoff, Courses, Fees, Placements, Ranking

Indian Institute of Management Ranchi admissions are offered to the BBA-MBA (IPM), MBA, MBA Human Resources Management, MBA Business Analytics, Executive MBA, Ph.D Management and Executive Ph.D programmes. Before applying for the IIM Ranchi, candidates need to check their eligibility and then apply. 

IIM Ranchi IPM admissions are done based on the candidate’s performance in the IPMAT. For IIM Ranchi MBA admissions, candidates need to appear and secure a valid score in the CAT entrance examination.

IIM Ranchi Registrations 2025

The IIM Ranchi IPM course is a fully residential programme which contains a 3-year BBA course followed by a 2-year regular MBA programme. IPM IIM Ranchi admission is based on the scores of IPMAT, conducted by IIM Indore.

IIM Ranchi IPM Eligibility Criteria

• To get IIM Ranchi IPM admissions candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria.

• Then, the candidates need to appear and secure a valid score in the IPMAT conducted by IIM Indore.

• Based on IPMAT scores candidates are shortlisted for PI.

• Based on the total academic achievement at the secondary and upper secondary levels, a Consolidated Merit List (CML) would be created using the following criteria: 

• Note: 5 marks will be added to female and transgender candidates only. These points will be added to the composite score at the very last stage of evaluation. These are bonus points added to a candidate’s score and not to the total (i.e., 100 points).

• Final confirmation of the candidate's admission will be done only after the document verification and admission fee payment.

The institute offers admission to the MBA, MBA Human Resources Management, MBA Business Analytics and Executive MBA. The duration of the IIM Ranchi UG course is 2 years. 

IIM Ranchi MBA Seat Intake and Eligibility Criteria

• For the IIM Ranchi MBA course admission candidates need to meet the required eligibility criteria.

• Then, the candidates have to appear and secure a valid score in the CAT entrance examination.

• Shortlisting of the candidates will be done based on their performance in the CAT.

• Further, shortlisted candidates will be called for the PI.

• After completion of the PI process, IIM Ranchi admission offers will be made based on a consolidated merit List (CML), which will be prepared based on the following components and their corresponding weights.

• The profile of the candidate is calculated based on the academic profile, work experience and diversity of the student.

• Based on their performance in the PI round, CAT score and Profile score, the final selection of the candidates will be done. 

• Later, the final confirmation of the candidate's admission will be done only after the document verification and IIM Ranchi admission fee payment. 

The Ph.D programme at IIM Ranchi takes about 4 years to complete. Students must complete 2 years of coursework and spend at least 2 more years on research and writing a dissertation.

IIM Ranchi Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

• The candidates need to submit an online application form for Ph.D programme which is available on IIM Ranchi's online application portal along with the required supporting documents.
• To get admission to Ph.D programme, candidates must pass all the eligibility criteria of the institute.
• The candidates need to present the necessary documentation.

IIM Ranchi admissions are based on the IIM CAP results 2024 (app.iimranchi.ac.in/result/). IIM Ranchi CAP 2024 results are based on the scores obtained in the CAT 2023 examination, and performance in the Written Ability Test(WAT) and Personal Interview(PI) round organised by the institute.
