IIIT Pune Admission 2026: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Cutoff & Application Form

IIIT Pune admissions are offered to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. IIIT Pune admissions are based on entrance test, conducted by a national authority or by the institute itself. IIIT Pune B.Tech selection process involves qualifying for the entrance exam JEE Main/MHT CET.

For IIIT Pune M.Tech admissions, the shortlisting of candidates will be through GATE score and written examination and/or interview conducted by the respective departments. The IIIT Pune Ph.D selection process is based on the GATE score and/or written test and/or interview conducted by the respective departments.

Indian Institute of Information Technology Pune Admission Dates 2025 (GATE)

There are 2 specialisations of B.Tech provided by IIIT Pune namely, Computer Science and Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for admission. 

IIIT Pune B.Tech Seat Intake and Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should appear for the MHT CET/JEE Main examination and secure a valid score. Eligible candidates can apply for the B.Tech course by visiting the official website.

• The candidate should meet the cutoff prescribed by the institute for admission to the B.Tech course.

• The shortlisted candidate should attend the JoSAA/CSAB or the MHT CET counselling and based on the scores obtained in the entrance examination, the candidates will be shortlisted for IIIT Pune admissions.

• The final selected candidates will be informed about seat allotment through a registered phone number or email ID.

• Candidates should get the documents verified and pay the admission fee to confirm the admission.

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Pune JEE Main Results 2024 for Session 1 has been released by the National Test Agency (NTA) on February 12. Candidates can check the result and also the JEE Main 2024 answer key at jeemain.nta.ac.in.

Candidates seeking admission to IIIT Pune B.Tech courses should register themselves for JoSAA/CSAB Counselling. IIIT Pune JoSAA Counselling 2024 will tentatively commence on June 10 and a further detailed schedule to be released in June 2024.

The 2 M.Tech programmes offered by IIIT Pune are provided with specialisations in Artificial Intelligence (AI) by the CSE department and the Internet of Things (IoT) by the ECE department. Candidates can check the eligibility criteria given below.

IIIT Pune M.Tech Seat Intake and Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates are required to download the application form from the official website.

• Eligible candidates are required to fill out the Google form provided by the institute along with combining all the documents into a single PDF and uploading it in the form.

•  Candidates have to pay a sum of Rs 590 (Rs 295 for SC/ST/PwD) as the application fee.

• Selection of candidates will be done based on written tests and/or Interviews and qualifying the prescribed cutoff. (Note: Both GATE and non-GATE candidates can apply.)

• Candidates qualified in written exams and interviews will be informed through email and have to bring documents at the time of admission to the institute. 

• Candidates must take GATE 2025 and secure a valid score before registering in the CCMT portal.

• After appearing for the GATE exam, candidates have to register online on the official website of CCMT. Candidates are required to enter personal details, GATE score and other details.

• Upon successful registration and payment of the registration fee, the candidates will be able to fill and lock their choices of programmes in the order of their preference from the list of eligible programmes.

• Afterwards, Candidates will undergo 3 rounds of counselling: Seat allotment, Seat Acceptance fee (SAF) and online document verification.

• Merit for seat allotment will be prepared based on the GATE score of the year filled by the candidate. Candidates are required to clear the cutoff prescribed by the institute.

• Once the seats are allotted to the candidates for the respective institute, candidates can verify their documents and confirm their admission.

The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Pune GATE Exam 2024 was conducted on February 3, 4, 10 and 11. The concerned authorities have recently released GATE 2024 answer keys on February 21, 2024. Candidates can check the answer keys at gate2024.iisc.ac.in.

Candidates who have qualified CSIR UGC NET or have obtained the INSPIRE Ph.D fellowship can also apply for the IIIT Pune Ph.D programme. The eligibility criteria are given below.

IIIT Pune Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates are required to fill out the application form through the official website. (GATE candidates are also required to do the same).

• Candidates are required to pay Rs 1000 as an application fee for the application form.

• The application form along with self-attested documents are required to be sent by speed/registered post to the institute. Also, the same is to be sent in a single PDF via email.

• The PhD admission will be based on the GATE score and/or written test and/or interview by the respective departments. (For non-GATE candidates, a written test is conducted).

• After the document verification and admission fee payment, the candidate is granted admission.
