In the year 2023-24, more than 81 offers were accepted during the placement drives. National Institute of Technology (NIT) Sikkim has a Career Counselling and Placement Committee which is a combined body with eminent members who are experts in building industrial relations. As per NIT Sikkim NIRF 2024 report, 113 UG students and 20 PG students were placed during NIT Sikkim placements. The median salary package of UG students stood at Rs 8.50 Lakhs. NIT Sikkim median salary package for PG students is Rs 8.20 lakhs.

For the year 2023, NIT Sikkim highest package and average package have improved than previous years. NIT Sikkim B.Tech CSE branch students were placed with average salary of Rs 8.5 LPA. The placement cell of NIT Sikkim handles all aspects of the industries and student's needs. programmes are designed and planned to train the students for real industrial experience during the internship programme. The NIT Sikkim placements are offered by various companies with a good package. Also, NIT Sikkim organises training sessions and skill-enhancement programmes to the students.

NIT Sikkim Placement Procedure

The NIT Sikkim placement cell invites the top recruiters.
The companies/organisations interested in recruiting can register themselves on the website.
The companies will conduct the pre-placement talks.
Placement Office allots dates for recruitment procedure in consultation with the concerned companies/organisation by considering factors like student preferences, job profile, and many more.
Companies/Organisations can view the resumes of interested students and shortlist students as per the criteria specified.
Companies/Organisations visit the campus on the allotted date(s) and conduct tests and interviews according to their recruitment process.
The company/organisation is required to furnish the final list of students on the date of the interview.
The offer letters will be sent to the selected candidates.

placment section of nit sikkim is good tnp cell really doing thier job hard many company visists our csmpus like intel powergrid ,lnt construction ,A com so many students gets placed every year specially in cse branch but there is some problem with core branch not much more company visits so only 4-5 student get placed
