NIT Puducherry Reviews on Infrastructure, Campus, Placement, Facilities & Faculty

This college has good infrastructure and all necessary things. Among other new nits, this nit has a permanent campus and developing at a very faster rate. But one disadvantage is there is no single tree in whole campus.

Teachers here are very kind and always ready to help. But There are few faculty who know the topic but aren't able to convey it to the students properly.And Every year there is a tech festival called gyanith in which you can show your talents.

The average package of the institution ranges from 4-5 lakhs per annum.Though this is not impressive, around 85% of students gets placed which is good enough. But Don't expect like 24 lpa, they are just an rare case. Obviously if you work hard you may get even more than that.

Since it is a new nit, things are still being built here but at a faster rate..And basic things like classroom,library,laboratory,food, wifi are present..And A.C.'s are there for first year's new boys hostel..

Teachers here are very kind and cooperative... And you can ask your any doubts at any time before 5pm...sylabus are here completed at any cost..eventhough main subject are taught well, yet there are some poor teaching in few other subjects that comes for 1st year only.

Around 85% of students gets placed in nit puducherry and average salary of nitpy-ian is around 6-7lakh per annum and the highest one was 24 lpa offered by IBM to 4 students. But the placement depends on ability of students alone.

As a new NIT that got started on 2009 and just moved to permanent campus 3 years ago the college infrastructure development is next level. Labs, classrooms and hostels are there - most new NITs don't have permanent campus. Sports facilities are improving starting from volleyball, basketball and badminton.

I'm in the Computer science department and I'm highly impressed by the peer group that I have. They make me work hard. Teachers are always ready to help and most of them are good. The curriculum is freshly updated - data structures is in second semester and artificial intelligence course is compulsory. We have facility to finish all courses within 3.5 years and do final year project at some top research universities - this has started from our batch of 2019-23.

The placement is average among NITs and number one in Puducherry. The median salary is 6.5 lakhs per annum and the placement percentage is 85%. The highest salary was 24 lpa offered by IBM to 4 people.

2 lakhs / year including hostel fee, decent fees.

Safe and secure campus. Basic things can be bought from on campus shop. No night canteen and trees. Karaikal is a small town, don't expect much outside.

If you're not getting any top or old NITs and new NITs is your only choice go for NITPY. You won't regret.
