The facilities and infrastructure in the department are well-designed. Wi-Fi facilities connect labs and classrooms. The library has a wide range of books. The canteen serves Chinese, North Indian, and South Indian cuisine, providing the best food.
The ECE department is very well-equipped with labs having the newest machinery and tools. 2 study rooms and high-speed WI-FI. For the hostel, I would say it is average. We have been given a single room with a cupboard, study table, Bed and fan. I don’t like the mess food too much as it lacks taste and variety.
Our hostel is awesome. Radhakrishanan Bhawan has free unlimited Wi-Fi, LAN, gym, canteen, TV room, elevator, indoor game complex, etc. The department of mathematics has a library, free Wi-Fi, and great supportive professors. The quality of food served in the hostel was average. But breakfast used to be great at our time. Classes are conducted in the lecture hall complex, which was at a distance of 10-15 minutes from our hostel.
Hy,
When comparing different IITs and their respective programs, it's essential to consider factors such as placement statistics, career opportunities, faculty, research facilities, and overall reputation.
If you value the prestige and established placement record of a more established IIT, IIT Kanpur would be a strong choice for mechanical or chemical engineering. If you're interested in emerging fields with strong placement potential and can leverage the growing reputation of newer IITs, Mathematics and Computing at IIT Mandi, Ropar, or Patna is also an excellent option.

Admission to the program is based on JEE Advanced scores.
The BS-MS program is a five-year integrated program that combines the curriculum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mathematics and Computing with a Master of Science (MS) degree in the same field. The program provides a strong foundation in mathematics and computer science, along with courses in applied mathematics, computational science, and electives in various areas of specialization.
The curriculum for the BS-MS program in Mathematics and Computing at IIT Roorkee includes courses in:
