Top Class Education Scheme (Central Scheme Scholarship)

Undergraduate students belonging to the SC category with an annual family income up to Rs 6 lakh

Candidate must be enrolled in a full-time course at IIT Patna

Students must pass the final/semester/ terminal exam (each year)

Full tuition fee and additional non-refundable charges waived

Rs 3000 per annum for books and stationery

Rs 2,220 for living expenses per month 

A latest laptop/computer system from a renowned brand with necessary accessories including the printer and the UPS (Cost limited to Rs 45,000)

Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarships

Merit: For OBC and General students 

(1st year M Sc /B Tech): Minimum CPI/CGPA should be 6.5. Students shouldn’t have an F grade in their first semester courses.

(2nd year B Tech/M Sc): Minimum CPI/CGPA should be 6.5. Students shouldn’t have an F grade in their first semester courses

For SC and ST students

(1st year M Sc /B Tech): Students shouldn’t have an F grade in their first semester courses.

(2nd year B Tech/M Sc): No F grade in courses.

Means: Students’ (all categories) annual income in the previous financial year should not be Rs 4.50 lakh

For OBC and General Students: Free tuition fee and Rs 1,000 (per month) for two semesters (for eight semesters every year).

For ST and SC Students: Hostel room rent exemption, free messing, and a monthly pocket allowance of Rs 250

National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education for the ST students

Fellowship (PG student): An ST student who has qualified the postgraduate exam and is enrolling for a full-time and regular PhD/ M Phil course at IIT Patna

Scholarship (PG/UG student): Candidates’ annual family income should not exceed Rs 6 lakh.

Above 80 percentile in class 12

Fellowship:  Contingency of Rs 10,000 (per year) for HSS, M Phil fellowship of Rs 25,000 (per month), and Rs 12,000 (per annum) for Engineering, Science, Technology, and HRA as per IIT Patna rules

Scholarship: Rs 2,000 (per month) for living expenses, Rs 3,000 for books and stationery (per annum), full tuition fee and other non-refundable charges, Rs 45,000 for computer/laptop accessories (one-time assistance)

Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students

Undergraduate students who surpass the 80th percentile in the relevant domain from their corresponding Board of Examination. Diploma students aren’t eligible. 

The family income per annum shouldn’t exceed Rs 8 lakh.

Rs 10,000 at the graduation level and Rs 20,000/ at the PG level (per annum)

Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for RPSF (Railway Protection Special Force)/ RPF (Railway Protection Force)

The UG students must have scored 60% or more in graduation/diploma/10+2. 

Rs 2,000 (per month)for the male candidates; and Rs 2,250 (per month) for girl students

Post-matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

Not more than two SwDs from the same parents.

SwDs with 40% and more

Guardians/parents income (per year) should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh.

Rs 1,600 as Maintenance allowance for hostellers enrolled in Engineering courses.

Tuition fee and non-refundable charge reimbursement 

Disability Allowance: Rs 4,000 (per year) for visually impaired; Rs 4,000 (per annum) for intellectual disabilities; Rs 2,000 (per annum) for students with hearing impairment; Rs 2,000 (per year) for physically disabled; and Rs 2,000 (per year) for other disabilities.

Book allowance: Rs 1,500 (per year)

Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles (Offered by WARB, Ministry of Home Affairs)

Widows/wards of deceased AR and CAPFs personnel; Wards of AR personnel and Ex-CAPFs in receipt of the Gallantry Awards; Wards of personnel disabled on account of reasons associated with Government services; and widows/wards of serving and retired AR and CAPFs personnel

Those pursuing first professional degree courses from, Engineering

Students with at least 60% marks in Diploma/10+2/Graduation or an equivalent for new entrants 

For scholarship renewal, it is compulsory to clear each succeeding academic year for the professional programme with at least 50% marks.

Rs 3,000 (per month) for girl students; and Rs 2,500 (per month) for male students

Top Class Education Scholarships for UG/PG students with disabilities

Only two SwDs from the same parents can avail the scheme

SwDs with 40% and more

Annual income (for family) should not surpass Rs 2. 50 lakh.

Reimbursement of the tuition charges up to Rs 2.00 lakh (per year) 

Maintenance allowance: Rs 1,500 (per month) for day-scholars and Rs 3,000 (per month for hostellers.

Special allowance (including escort allowance, reader allowance, etc.): Rs 2,000 (per month)

Computer purchase reimbursement: Rs 30,000 for the entire course as a one-time grant.

Assistive and aids device purchases including any software associated with disability: Rs 30,000 for the entire course (as a one-time allowance).

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Minority Communities students to pursue technical and professional (for PG/UG Students)- Offered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs

Candidates with not less than 50% marks or an equivalent score in the last exam

The annual parents/guardians’ income should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakhs.

Full programme fee reimbursement (Course Fee)

Maintenance allowance: For hostellers: Rs 1,000 (per month for 10 months in an academic year) 

 For day scholars: Rs 500 (monthly for ten months in one academic year) 

ISHAN UDAY

Students with a domicile of North Eastern Region (NER), their family income should not be more than Rs 4.50 lakh (per annum) 

Rs 7,800 (per month) for technical /professional/medical/paramedical courses and Rs 5,400 (per month) for general degree courses

Undergraduate students from IIT Patna's Civil and Environmental Engineering Department admitted through JEE, CPI of 8 (or more) in the second semester

Students must not have an 'F' grade in any subject. The institute's CEE department should recommend the student's name.

They must not be involved in examination malpractice or shouldn't be punished for a violation of code of conduct during the course duration

They shouldn't have disciplinary action taken against them.

Gross family income shouldn't be more than Rs 1 lakh (per year). 

Rs 30,000
