    B.Tech Civil Engineering - Batch of 2025-01-01
    3.8

    Academics

Teaching quality really depends on who is teaching. For the Civil Department, especially a lot of younger professors are more engaging and research focused. They reach out and extend opportunities to students to work on projects to get better understanding of the subject and are really approachable. Older faculty like Nitin Dindolker, MS Chauhan and SK Dubey sir are also great at teaching in detail. They brought up real life applications all the time and made us wonder the real challenges besides just mathematical calculations.

    College Infra

College Academic buildings and labs are well equipped for the most part. Every equipment works but the usage is very limited. Instead of the smart board being used for a deeper dive and visual learning, it ended up being used to put up pre made slides from a few years back by the teachers (2 teachers to be specific in Civil Engineering department) But there are others as well that use it well. The transportation department teachers were very good at visually explaining an otherwise monotonous chapter for example. The labs on the other hand, we had like 1/4th of the semester one time, where the hydraulics lab was under maintenance for most experiments. Besides that the experience has been good. Cleanliness and working water coolers and toilets is on the positive side, especially 2nd year onwards when you are in your own department building (Civil/ EE/ ME/ Chemical) the center court is an open space with greenery and as a student, one of the highlights of hanging out and strolling in the teaching block. You must get your library card made as well, not only for older hard copies of books, but for their digital section as well that helps access research papers on behalf of MANIT. In all, the facilities are there, though sometimes you have to push harder to make use of them.

    Campus Life

The campus itself is beautiful and even though the ban on personal vehicles hit hard, I think the alternative with the E-buses is working wonderfully and is for the greater good. The lush greenery freshens you up in the morning and if your hostel is at the right spot, maybe a view of Kaliyasot Dam as well. The campus being located so close to New Market is such a big bonus. We would usually go out to eat and wander around during breaks at Mata Mandir Samosa spot or Sagar gaire/ VIshnu fast food.

    Placements

Pretty average placements. Though the drive in Civil Engineering department was pretty lack lustre as well. Most civil students are preparing for GATE. But the TnP cell tried their best to get as many oportunities as they can. Its run by a student body with student interests in mind. The choices were good for major civil engineering firms like L&T, Aditya Birla, Reliance etc though many being in remote areas away from urban areas did drive me away from applying. Regardless, I was preparing for higher studies as well.

Good Library and Professors. Not good internships.

    B.Tech Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2016-01-01
    4

    Academics

First year covers every topic from different engineering fields briefly. Second year onwards the course is more structured.Professors are experienced in their domain. Some are well known nationally. There is opportunity to work with a professor and publish papers. Classes are regular ie professors always come. The curriculum is evaluated every year and is available on the public internet. It's up to date with major IIT coursework.

    College Infra

College is well equipped with both conventional electrical motors/brushless drives and modern digital equipments. College has a well equipped library on every topic imaginable.Proper college wide wifi. The campus is clean and green. Not all classrooms have a projector. There are 2 proper canteens and the each hostel has one, covering both north and south indian cuisines with atleast 3 meals a day. There are water coolers and water filters on hostel campus.

    Placements

Not a lot of companies for electrical engineering . Electrical folks didn't get chances in other engineering placements like CS as much. Major PSUs and Companies like GAIL, LnT etc come every year. The average package was 5LPA The highest was 8LPA. Not a lot of internship opportunities.

    Value For Money

Relatively cheap because it's a public college. A lot of funding. I paid 2LPA over 4 years. Good student societies and coursework coverage for real life experience makes it worth the money.

    M.Tech Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2017-01-01
    4.4

    Academics

Faculty in chemical dept are experienced phds, teach advanced stuff like process design and thermodynamics well, focus on projects and gate prep. Syllabus practical with labs and seminars, exams fair but attendance strict. NIRF 72 rank shows quality, but some contract teachers rush classes. Good for research or jobs.

    College Infra

Campus is massive, 650 acres with green trees and fresh air, feels like a park. Chemical labs got good reactors and distillation setups for research, library huge with journals and wifi. Classrooms big but old, no AC so hot in bhopal summers. Hostels clean with mess, but water issues sometimes. decent for pg studies.

    Campus Life

Life is fun with fests like maffick cultural and technosearch tech, clubs for robotics and debate keep busy. Green campus great for sports, cricket ground and gym there. Hostels coed vibe, mess food average but night canteen helps. Strict timings for freshers, but friends from all over make it lively.

    Placements

For MTech chemical, about 70 percent got placed last year, companies like reliance, bpcl and infosys come for core and it roles. Median package 7.8 lpa, highest around 12 lpa as per nirf. Many go for phd or psus via gate. Cell helps with training, but recession hit a bit, still better than many nits.

    Value For Money

Fees just 70-80k per year, super low for nit level with good labs and faculty. Hostel extra 40k, scholarships for merit too. NIRF ranked, you get solid degree and events cheap. Compared to privates charging lakhs, its total bargain even with basic infra. No complaints, worth joining.

Both NIT Bhopal and NIT Jamshedpur are excellent institutions, but their CSE programs cater to different priorities. NIT Bhopal has a larger brand legacy and location advantage, while NIT Jamshedpur provides a more exclusive, focused learning environment with a tighter-knit batch.

Which is better to choose Nit Jaipur ECE or Nit Bhopal CSE ( not only for placement but also for self development which is better)

Choosing between NIT Jaipur (ECE) and NIT Bhopal (CSE) depends on your interest and long-term goals, but here’s a balanced view:

If you’re interested in coding, software development, or IT roles , NIT Bhopal CSE is generally better, with higher placements and more career opportunities in the tech sector. On
